Cathie Wilson
Principal Consultant

Cathie has a reputation for her engaging writing style and eagle-eyed editing. Her diverse work history—starting out as a science student and early computer nerd (before the interwebs!), progressing to HR/Finance and government work before taking up her current career in marketing and communication—has exposed her to a multitude of outlooks and business situations. As a result, she can wrap her head around all sorts of tech-speak and jargon, translating it for a range of different audiences. Cathie has worked with public utilities, ICT and engineering companies, transport and logistics organisations, and industrial research and academic institutions.
An excellent generalist, Cathie’s particular forte is in creating publications with panache. From conceptualising and developing, writing and editing, directing artwork and managing projects—if it’s in print, or on line, Cathie’s track record of delivering high-calibre work is well established.

And her love of words doesn’t stop at English: A wannabe polyglot, Cathie’s current party trick is being able to say “Thank you” in 23 languages (at last count). She can say “Please” in six, and order drinks in five. Cathie is also an amateur jazz and backing vocalist (currently looking for a willing accompanist).

Scott Gibson
Strategic Marketing Associate

Scott’s wealth of consulting experience in all facets of integrated marketing and communication spans two decades and includes advertising, digital strategy, brand development, corporate communications, PR, market research, strategic planning and campaign development.

Scott currently teaches digital strategy, advertising management and market research at QUT, and has held senior roles in private agencies and government. As an Account Director and Principal Marketing Strategist with Brisbane City Council, he was responsible for some of Brisbane’s best-loved campaigns, including “I ♡ BNE”, Eat Safe Brisbane, numerous high-profile recycling campaigns, and Queensland’s commemorative birth certificates. Scott can turn his hand to all projects great and small, and works side by side with his clients to develop creative, results-driven solutions.

An artiste at heart, Scott spends his off hours steeped in cultural pursuits—from fine dining and fashion to travel and the arts. He also volunteers with Brisbane’s Expressions Dance Company, donating his substantial marketing prowess when he can.

Kelly Bingham

Kelly’s extensive experience in corporate and consumer marketing includes a 12-year international stint working with high-profile organisations like The Capital Group (Michelin-starred French restaurant and celebrity chef, two boutique SLH hotels, BAFTA venues, and Levin Wines), world-renowned PR and communications firm Burson-Marsteller, InterContinental Hotels, and the highly successful Brisbane-based Di Bella Coffee.

As part of the Copycat Collective team, she has a strong strategic focus and has a particular flair for public and media relations and promotions. A self-confessed digital marketing nerd, Kelly is always exploring the latest in online and social marketing techniques, including search engine optimisation (SEO), as well as the newest tools and developments to help clients improve their marketing productivity and ROI.

A certified Latino-phile, Kelly has travelled extensively throughout South America and Spain, studying flamenco, capoeira, Brazilian pop music and the Spanish language along way (she’s currently learning the tango!). And just like a flamenco dancer, Kelly’s communication strategies are nimble, demanding the audience’s attention and lingering in their memory long after the show has closed.
